Enterprise Research Forums - 2004
Monday 29 November, York (re-scheduled from Monday 27 September).
The forum is entitled - Enterprise in the Curriculum: case studies.
The first one in this series was held on 27 May at Bretton Hall, on the topic of 'Enterprise learning'.
Kamal Birdi (University of Sheffield) brought us up to date on Creativity and Innovation and David Good
(University of Cambridge) on Self-Efficacy. Their presentations were followed by a very productive
question and answer session. After lunch, Bob Handscombe (Director WRCE), using a model developed by
Tony Ward (University of York) invited us to take a holistic view of enterprise. Thereafter the Forum
broke into workshop groups given specific questions to consider, with a plenary session at the end.
To view the presentations given at the Forum follow these links:
Kamal Birdi's presentation
David Good's presentation
Bob Handscombe and Tony Ward's presentation
The above summary doesn't quite capture the stimulation provided by the presentations and workshop
discussions. It is not an over exaggeration to say that everyone attending was inspired by the day
and wanted additional Forums. We, of course are only too happy to continue the promotion of enterprise
learning, and are planning a series of sessions.
